This 1968 NET Journal film covers societal issues and changes surrounding petroleum discovery in Abu Dhabi in the modern day United Arab Emirates, the new found wealth the oil industry has brought to those countries, and how Abu Dhabi's ruler Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan dealt with the situation. This film was published in the United States with no copyright notice, and as such fell into the public domain per the copyright acts of 1906 and 1976.

Israel has announced plans to open a mission in the United Arab Emirates as part of the International Renewable Energy Agency. The mission will be Israel’s first official presence in the Arab country. It will not, however, change Israel's diplomatic ties with the UAE, which does not recognize Tel Aviv.
